I am delighted and honoured to be returning to Mesne Lea Primary School as the Head teacher. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our school to you via our website.
I have been a Teacher and a Senior Leader across Salford and Bolton for 16 years. The teaching profession is my passion - nothing beats influencing children’s outcomes - and as a leader I know I can impact on children across the school.
I am privileged to lead Mesne Lea Primary School and continue to serve its community wholly.
Being a parent myself, I understand how change can affect how children feel about school. Please be assured, the children are always at the heart of every decision the school makes. This is a happy school and my intentions are only ever to improve the standards, outcomes and life opportunities for our children. I pride myself on positive relationships, therefore, I encourage all new parents/carers to contact the school to make an appointment, so I can show you around Mesne Lea Primary School.
As Headteacher, my main job (along with Mrs A Cartwright, Deputy Head Teacher) is to make sure children are safe, happy and achieving well. The staff and I will continue to make sure all routines become embedded, learning continues to be settled, and high expectations continue to rise as we thrive towards another positive year. I believe children should feel welcome, inspired, safe and supported when they are learning.
I hold a strong belief that parents/carers make an important contribution to their child's achievements at school and I look forward to watching your children flourish here at school.
Welcome again to Mesne Primary School and please do arrange a visit to look around our brilliant school.
Mrs Unsworth
