On Friday 28th April in the afternoon Year 1 Yellow experienced the great outdoors. We played flood - the children worked in teams to all fit on the tyres so they wouldn’t be washed away!! They discussed the problems faced and how they overcame them. We then explored the forest area using the apparatus.
This Summer term Year 1 are developing their computing skills with Mrs Prill. Week 1 - This week we have been learning about directions and instructions. We pretended to be robots and then we gave instructions to the Beebots and Beebot app using directional language and our computational thinking skills. Week 2 - This week we have been learning about algorithms. (An algorithm is a set of instructions.) We had to follow Mrs Prill’s algorithm to draw a crazy character. We then went on to plan our own animation and then we added instructions into Scratch Jnr on the ipads to create an animation.
DT in Year 1 Blue based on Nobot the robot linked to our science topic, everyday materials. We designed, built, papiermached, painted and decorated our own robots.
